Bael fruit tea - often called bael fruit herbal tea - is a delicious conconction brewed with dried slices of bael fruit and said to be good for waste management (if you know what I mean). Here's how to make it using dried bael fruit slices (if you can't find dried bael fruit, try ordering the bael fruit tea listed below the recipe in the shopping section):
Ingredients
10 slices dried bael fruit
3 cups water
3 tablespoons sugar
Preparation
1. Bring the water to a boil in a teapot.
2. While waiting for water to boil, place the dried bael fruit on a hot grill or in a hot grill pan and heat until its aroma becomes redolent.
3. When water is boiling, add bael fruit to water and boil over low heat for approximately 15 minutes.
4. Add sugar (use more or less, depending on your taste).
5. Filter tea, allow to cool, and serve over ice.
You want to be left with about 2 cups of tea, so you may need to experiment with the proper amount of water to start with in order to be left with 2 cups.
